My latest mini: Thorin with the Oakenshield. Very happy. His face and hair turned out nice. It's hard to tell from these pictures but the shield has a nice wooden texture. I really like the blue colors too.

Great paint job, like the cloth in particular

This is my lastest mini I've finished -- a Captain of Dale. I entered it in the Winter competition. I think the cloak, shield and helmet turned out nice.

Very neat painting. My only real criticism would be the snow on the base. That's GW's white static grass isn't it? I would suggest trying some Baking Soda mixed with PVA glue for a more realistic effect. Just my opinion mind...

Great work though :yay:

And Happy New Year to you also! :)

Yes, that is the GW snow. I will have to try out this new technique. Any advice?

Very clean painting on the captain. I really like the work you did on his cloak, especially the gold/yellow edging.

snow is very easy. Just get a small plastic cup, put about a 1:1 ratio of baking soda to pva glue. Mix it up, and apply it on the base and let it dry. That simple. nice mini btw

Never had a close look at this mini, but you've made him look absolutely fantastic, very nice indeed.

That is some very fine detailed work right there! I'd love to start a Dale army. The models look fantastic in my opinion.

That's a fabulous Dale captain! The cloak in particular works really well.
I quite like the winter base as it is as it looks more 'frosty' than snowy...

If you do try it, then this is pretty much spot on:

The captain of dale is great, well done. You've piqued my interest in that mini now and I've never shown any interest in it before. I might have to buy myself one.

This model is painted to look better than I believed was possible for the model to look, you've brought out the best qualities of the sculpt and improved them.

Here's my latest project - Fili from Escape from Goblin-Town. Very pleased - I like his face, and his base turned out nice. Not the most flashy color scheme (lots of brown) but I like it alot.
