I'm not going to do much else with the base as there is already the latex textured mat and the ruins, I may attach some static grass when it's painted up but aside from that nothing too extravagant.

Coins wise I may attach some in the underbelly as per the book, I still haven't got to that stage yet, soon I will post more pics, just waiting until I have textured more of the back first.

yeah ill be eagerly waiting to see your photos, did you know that Smaug didnt have a glittering belly in DOS but a fan sent him a letter a few weeks before the release and said that he was eagerly waiting to see it so Peter put it in so that he didnt feel guilty

This is a massive undertaking - but it's coming along really well. I like the work you have done on the head spikes. Keep going!

That is amazing work! It is great to see something taken from the earliest stages and watch it grow and develop.
And it is nice to see a four-legged take on the 'furnace-with-wings'. :)

Coming along very nice. I do have to say, it looks tedious. Hang in there man, you can do it.

Just posting to say even though I dislike dragons with 4 legs and 2 wings, I love how this sculpt is turning out. The scales in particular are very impressive, and I love the improvised framework.

I went with a more anthropomorphic design with the shoulders whilst taking some inspiration from dinosaurs in particular for the back legs

So I have textured all the membranous parts of the right wing topside
Image
Also some front leg scaliness, lots of progress last night, too much sculpting head felt queasy.
Image

Added extra tendons to the feet and ankle protusions
Image
Image

A shot of the right shoulder and some peaks at the magnet slot
Image
Image

the left wing so far showing mostly magnet
Image

I have been thinking recently about cutting the neck and tail off, drilling them and magnetising them for transport ease, what do you think?
