Executed well. Colour compliments the blue, but again, it drags the focus of the miniature downwards. Maybe something on the upper side to contrast the blue. Ginger hair? Or extend the red to the inner side of the cape?

thanks for the comments guys,

I want to keep the hair black because most of the noldor had blackish hair.

But, I will try using red on the cloth portions on the arms

I agree, it would definitely complete the look if the upper arms were done in the same red as the lower section.

Yup...those work very nicely - amazing how much better they look with the red on the sleeves and the underskirt. Keep 'em coming...

little update

Image

Image

here is my new scheme for the House of the King for Turgon

Image

Image

for the guards, I think this is what I need to change for the final scheme:
1. The spear, don't make it all gold, maybe some sort of wood. You guys have any idea for the wood color?

2. maybe to add something else, make his hands have gloves. Maybe a black or brown leather?

3. the white crest on the cloak. I'm not sure about this one, I like it, but maybe a better color goes with it. We'll see

Anyway, here you go guys.

I also like the white crest on the cloak, It creates a strong contrast which works with the mini's overall appearance.

I agree that the spear shaft would look better wood. Try basecoating bestial brown followed by painting long thin lines of graveyard earth the full length of the spear. add bleached bone to Graveyard earth for further highlight and last of all ink with brown ink diluted with water to roughly 3 parts water to one part ink.

Awesome work as ever.

I love the troops, they are PERFECT. Very well done!

For the House of the King for Turgon, i do not like at all. I think you can do a lot better.
I think you should work on mixing the red and purple in the cloak and taking the red/purple tinge off the armour. It just looks dirty armour.

Excellent !! Very subdued shading and highlights. How I envy you talented painters.
It certainly is inspiring though. Please continue.

@Hodush, yeah, this guard in particular was an older version. I did another one with a more cohesive color scheme. When I start painting again, I'll include pics of newly painted mini's. And I agree on the armor, looks quite dirty. That's due to laziness lol
