Looking good so far. Good clean, classic Gondor terrain.

I was looking at my terrain collection and I saw a hill that I never used in my games, so an idea came to me! Lets make a hobbit hole! So, I spent some time thinking and planing and here are the first results:

I love the hobbit hole!

I'm also loving the Gondor scenery and think I'll try some ruins myself. What tool do you use to cut the foam? Is it a knife, hot wire cutter or otherwise?

Also, did you cut the bricks out individually and build the ruin or is it one sheet carved into?

Again, all great stuff!

Thanx for commenting guys!
@Jacob
I used hobby knife for cutting the foam. Just make sure you always have a sharp point! The ruin is one piece.

The hobbit hole is a really neat piece of terrain, it looks brilliant.

Your terrain looks good but I only have one critique, if I may. Hopefully I can explain myself well enough without sounding rude. There just seems to be too much grass. I know the hobbit hole is supposed to be covered in it, but to me it just seems off, somehow. There doesn't seem to be enough diversity. Do you have different types of static grass or materials? You could try doing a variety of underbrush leaving small patches of the dirt showing. Very rarely in nature is the entire area of ground covered in vegetation.
Now this isn't to say that what you've already done isn't good. It's spectacular and I honestly haven't done a project like a hobbit hole myself. I just give myself a standard of making the terrain that I do have look as realistic as possible. Please don't take this in a negative way. I only wanted to see if I could provide some assistance.

Wah Wing thank you for your critique! I really appreciate it! No hard feelings! You are apsolutely right! This is something that I did with my previous work. But I'm not so much in realism and I tend to put more static grass because in time it will fall of, no matter how good I protect it... :)
