i dont see a reason to take bows on warg riders needing a 6 to shoot if they moved is a really low chance on getting the hit in. throwing spears make more sense because of the s3 but why would bows be worth using?

Indeed, there is no reason to give them bows, considering the 6 to hit while moving(even throwing spears seems wasted). Give them shield and charge the opponent on the flanks.

Not worth it in points matches but I have a few for scenarios.

Just go with Orc trackers mounted on wargs. There a couple of pts cheaper and they still hit on a 5+ even with the movement penalty

ya i dont plan on mounting my trackers since i would find them being a waste on going close in combat. i like using my bows hitting there supports or there cav (even if there in combaat)

I find the best use for trackers is as snipers. send them around combats to take out targets of opportunity, Banners, horn blowers, spear/pike support etc even siege crews if there are any.

use the wargs movement to keep them out of combat unless you have no choice or else its good bye bad guy

if you prove to be annoying enough you opponent will have to spend time and models chasing them down and ignoring the rest of his battle line

The only reason to use a mounted archer would be for the extra move bonus, but then you are not using their extra atk or knock back rule.

you always have the option of dismounting the trackers and if the dice gods are good and the wargs pass the courage test you have another option

I love my mounted Orc Trackers. Very cheap cavalry that hits with S4 and has the option of hanging back to shoot, gives you lots of options there. If you lose a combat, you're losing a model, this is true and you have to make your peace with that, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. That versatility is fantastic, there's never a turn that they're not bothering your opponent, you're either taking some shots or you're lining up for a charge. What I've also learned is that people are terrified of a well constructed Warg Rider charge, even if said rider is as fragile as Trackers are.

I once played a game where I was almost completely toothless, my opponent sniped my Khamul on FB first turn, my Orc Shaman was rendered useless after failing Fury on a two-dice cast, while my opponent's army was still completely unscathed. Yet, despite my going into it with a 200+ point deficit, my opponent remained very nervous of my contingent of Orc Trackers, and we both knew that, had I been able to flank him with my cavalry, I would have won despite no longer being on level playing grounds. In the end, he kept refusing his flank despite all my efforts to lure him forward and I lost that game.

All this to say, while I don't recommend normal Warg Riders with bows, Orc Trackers on Wargs are my go-to cavalry.
