Scratchbuilt hedges made from scouring pads. Based on 12 x 2 inch metal strips (no warping). There will be right at home in the Shire and the rest of Free Middle Earth.
Just more pieces to add to my Middle Earth terrain.

These are fantastic.

The best I have ever seen.

I wish I had them.

Wow, those are some very well done hedges, and expensive looking! I've seen whole boards with fewer tuffs than what you have put on those hedges. What brand of flowering tuffs do you use? The white tipped ones.

Great job, makes me want to put down my painting brush and do some more terrain.

Mapper, I didn't use individual tufts. Once I had everything in place, I spread tacky glue on the spots where I wanted long grass. I used the "fly swatter" static grass applicator to then do the whole base at once. One side at a time. It's easier because the base is metal. Just attached the clip and your ready to go.
After it dries, I ran some super glue over the tops of the grass and sprinkled on that white topping which is available from model RR stores. It comes in a pack of several colors and is known as "flowers".

Hope that explains it.

Thanks for the explanation, good to know. I need to look into using static grass more. I have a model railroad convention coming up within the next couple months, will have to look closer at what they offer. Last year I focused more on trees.

You do excellent work, very detailed.
