An old scenario where Eorl the Young had to find and tame his legendary mount is the basis for this idea. I thought a scenario involving the (re-)capture of horses might be interesting. We already know trolls have a taste for such things, but what about spiteful Dunlendings in the pastures of Rohan, or Sharkey's rogues after tasty hobbit chickens/pigs?

Dungeons and Dragons has a splash rule I'd like to adapt to this. When a splash weapon is thrown, a die is rolled to see which 1" square is affected. We can adapt this to the direction such a creature moves, and horses already have a base speed, so it's fair the other animals could have one relative to their real-world speed.

Good idea, or would the normal rules for fear and movement be a better fit?

Another option is to allow the player without priority to control the houses. This rule is used a lot for sentinels and other scenarios where one party is oblivious of the other, or spooked
