So I got my Morgul Knights, but since no of the models are captains I need someone to lead them.

I am currently doubting between:

- Dark Marshal (mounted)
- Witchking (mounted)
- Mouth of Sauron

Any recommendations, also in terms of estatic and looks?

The plastic kit actually has a sword arm with which to build a mounted Black Númenórean Marshal. Alternatively, the Dark Marshal is an excellent choice to lead Morgul Knights: Ringwraiths are always strong, but he fits in especially well. His banner effect makes the Knights even deadlier on the charge and more durable in turns when they don't (normally a major issue for mounted troops), while his -1 courage aura combines well with the terror the knights cause. Even his background matches, as he too is of Black Númenórean descent, and looks the part.

So to my understanding there is already a warband leader in the box?

Absolutely take the Dark Marshall. His banner is invaluable because they need to win fights and handle a counter charge. Theyre very costly troops. His magic can help kill enemy heroes with their lances on the charge.

Mouth of Sauron just sucks.

Witch King isnt a cavalry charge leading type of guy.

Yes MacCollac, there are parts in the box to make up to six knights but there are also different are pieces that are intended to be used for both banner and captain models. The captain for the morgals knights is not bad for what he does and if you don't want to commit a bigger investment like a wraith he is a good pick.

Thanks Wan Shi! Yea they are quite expensive, maybe I will get one later down the line. Does the Minas Tirith Knights also include a commander option?

No I don't recall that it does. I think the Knights of Minis Tirith were before that trend got started. One the bright side converting up a captain, or even Beregond, is a matter of clipping off the plastic lance, then simple gluing on a plastic sword or bow. The shield are not attached to start with so if you just leave on off and/or make a low grade weapon swap it is easy to make the guy as different.

Black Numenorean Marshal on a horse is the captain model for Morgul Knights.

Edit: Derp. Thought you were saying there wasn't a captain type model, rather than not having a model to act as a leader (though the leader variant could be used as a Black Numenorean marshal).

I would like to think I play morgul knights often and well. My last game I used them as part of a combination of abilities that work very well/effective together.
Dark Marshal on horse is a must for his banner ability. Have him lead 7 morgul knights.
Field the Undying on armored horse.
Field a shade with 6 shielded orcs, 4 spear orcs, one banner bearer orc.
The shade and the DM work great together. Use the Undying to paralyze any enemy heroes. Don't forget the Undying has Arcana Leach.

So do I take the Black numenorean Marshal point value of 60 with 15 points for the armored horse?

Over what the mouth of Sauron or a budget wraith? Suppose it would depend on the role you want filled and if whether or not you already have the models. The Wraith can have might and spells but won't be able to function as a battle mage to well unless you get it more then twelve will and that makes it a bit pricey to field. The mouth of Sauron has a limited spell selection and will supply, lacks the extra point of might, but is alright in combat against regular guys. The Captain is for fighting and using his might to heroic move to keep up the charge and that's about it. So what kind of lead do you want to have?
