Super excited for these releases! Ogre looks great, the resin (as long that is the quality control of it) Looks for solid and less pock marked than Finecast. October release date and then monthly dates moving forward. Time to start saving my milk money.

Does anyone know when they'll bring out the new rulebook? Or around which season we can expect it?

The video claims that the book will release in November. Next month (October) We can expect Dain on foot and Mounted, as well as boxsets of dwarven soldiers. The releases are supposedly going to be monthly starting next month.

In november they will release the book previously seen at the open day, "there and back again", that will update and add the profile of the stuff seen in the hobbit film and new scenarios.

For the real new rulebook, the one who rule them all :-D and probably will rebrand the name of the game in "Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game." , rumors said next summer, but are only rumors not confermed by anyone!

There was mention of a limited edition Leather bound version of the new Scenario Book, has anyone heard any more news on this?

I believe the fancy version of a book was a potential idea for the next one, the long-awaited One Book to Rule Them All, i.e. containing updated basic rules and possibly all profiles from LotR and Hobbit combined and updated (though they might be in seperate books for different factions, depending on the required space). Even for this book, such a version was far from confirmed - Troke asked the audience whether they'd be interested in such a thing, they said yes, and he'd see what could be done, or something along those lines.

I'm really glad GW has finally taken to listening to their customers and decided to support and bring back many of their old games, SBG included. :)

I'm hoping that with the forthcoming releases, the game will see some new enthusiasm from old and new players alike. Yes, I doubt the game will ever reach the heights of popularity it enjoyed back when the Lord of the Rings movies were still in the mass media's eyes, but I would like to think that these new changes and releases to the game will encourge people towards the game once again. Time will tell.

I've just been having a peek at the Dakka Dakka site where sneak peaks of the October White Dwarf have been posted. There, among all the Genestealer figures, was Dain Ironfoot listed for release this month. Available directly from Forgeworld, no price listed. I don't know how to do links, but there is an excellent shot of the figure in the News and Rumours, Middle-Earth Battle Strategy Game page, at the bottom of Page 16.

And in the last four hours Dain is all over the net. Check the GBHL Facebook page for a large, clear picture, and a lot of very excitable gamers :D

Dain looks like a great model. He's actually a stand out character for me from the Hobbit trilogy. I was waiting for GW to make a model of him for a very long time. Looks like the wait is nearly over!

I've never bought anything from Forge World. Is there really a big difference between FW and GW? I know the material FW resin is different and prices are slightly higher, but don't they fall under the same basic company essentially? Anyone here have any experience from buying from them? I'm just asking as I'll probably be buying a lot of stuff from them in the future :)

Idk how people are considering them more expensive.

He literally only has been selling finecrap and finecrap 3 packs for a long time now ....

Laketown 3 for $25? Yeah right.

Check out forge worlds site, they charge more than GW for their products.

Actually i quote you, from the hobbit the gw price increased a lot especially in comparison of the classic lotr stuff. And the quality is the worst i've ever seen, in fact it was the finecast that stop me to collect hobbit stuff ... the plastic was and is fantastic, but resin kill my will to buy :-X

Forge world have always (nearly) higher price but the difference is much less by now!

If priced similarly to other stuff from GW, they won't be all that much more than the FC stuff. Still expensive, but not as big a jump as before.
