They will have no problem with a Khzad Guard. And proxy are not generally an issue either...it's the miniatures that encroach copyrights that are at question. None of your figures have been under that...you are not allowed to not enter this contest; I want to do better than second fair and square :-)

Thanks Jake.

@Karavatis - your previous entries are perfectly valid my friend. If they were not I would have sent you a PM and let you know. Khazad guard are fine.

So I will participate this month with Khâzad-Dum... as I use to do I'll paint a few miniatures and when they were finished I'll choose one for the Challenge.

Here the photo of start...

Good luck everybody.

Good point re. The need for a rules update re. 3rd party miniatures.

It all comes down to copyright I'm afraid. We have to be careful in this day and age.
There is a difference between a model being used as a proxy and an unlicensed Lotr themed model. I will go as far as to say that challenge entries will be allowed at the moderation teams discretion. If in doubt check first. In the case above Dave is correct and I have to say no this model is not eligible.

In the words of GBHL James "Support your hobbit hobby!"

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I read the forum guideline and since English isn't my native tongue I would like to check here. If I'm not mistaken all GW/FW mini's are allowed (ofcourse) and proxy's are allowed as well as long as:
- the mini's aren't ment to be LOTR/hobbit (for example Perry Miniatures).
- the mini's are converted with GW parts (for example Iron Hills dwarves build from Grimhammers with Shadow and Flames' conversion kit).
Mini's which aren't allowed are mini's by company's who only produce proxy's/fillers for LOTR GW didn't release (yet).

Back OT:
Am I allowed to enter Thorin? And does it matter which Thorin I enter?

For once I'm actually painting something that matches the challenge. While I have the new releases I intend to get my Thrain and Thror done first to finish off my Erebor models so, if I don't get to my Iron Hills quickly enough, I may enter one of them instead, assuming they're eligiible.

Still awaiting Dain. :(

If he won't arrive in time I might have to go for Champion of Erebor Dwalin, but I'd like to really stick to the Iron Hills theme as much as I can since I really did the opposite last contest. :)

Wait for him it's perhaps one of the prettiest models I've seen. Certainly the prettiest resin model I've seen!

Another here jumping on the band-wagon with a not-quite-iron-hills miniature, but hopefully Dwalin is close enough :D

I finished my submission. Boy am I happy with the result. I think it's one of my best paintjobs so far.
I had a lot of fun painting this model. It's truly an amazing sculpt.
Haters can say what they want about FW's prices, but after having painted this miniature I'm so excited to see what they're going to release next. Their material/sculpts are amazing and nowhere what I've seen from GW.

Seen plenty of pics of shiny new FW Dain this month - rightly so! The new minis are awesome.

But, for a change here's a completely different hero...Dain! Do we get to call him Vintage Dain now?

Late entry, hopefully I'll get him finished on time!
