The Ferals are excellent and the subdued paint scheme for the ringwraith works very well.

Thank you very much guys! As for the skin because this is what many people ask me for the uruk hai skin, especially on berserkers, this one is making the difference:
Image
You just apply it after the highlights as a "mid" shade and it makes the magic with all the redish tones. (I used vallejo dark flesh as a base color so not much red until I enhanced it with this)

Many thanks Sithius, means a lot for me. Really late response I didn't see the last post.

So my summer painting session has gone pretty well.

Wanderers of the wild (woses):
I used basel among other for the forest-themed bases

Haradrims:(without bases completed)
Image

Abrakhan merchant guard:
Did not paint those white scraps in the legs, now I saw it :P
The fleshis super easy if someone folows the right steps.

Half-trolls
No guides for them on the net. The colours I used for skin are: shadow greyand Cork brown.
Image

Haradrim Chieftain & taskmaster
finecast made it difficult but in the end I really liked their painting. It was fast, I think I did both in an afternoon.

Wow. You have quite the assortment of models there. And each of them is painted wonderfully. I've always been a fan of half-trolls and woses warriors. 8) Wish I had some for myself. :)

Loving how vibrant the blues look on the merchant guard, makes their clothing look very opulent and exotic.

edit: I wrote half-trolls where I meant merchant guard...

Thank you very much Wah Wing! I took those boxes in the last purchase I did because I am afraid they will be out of stock sometime. They are some of the best troops in the game in my opinion. And they are still metallic :)

Well said. I've learned from here and there that if in a 2-color combination the colors are in the opposite (almost) side of this:
Image
then the "visual feeling" you get is stronger (basic color theory). It is a psysical contrast that disrupts the harmony.
Sorry for the bla bla but I found it interesting it definitely works. Well, it works better in more careful paintjobs, I do all of them for the battlefield :P

Your style is really "clean" and precise. Makes for a very effective group of minis. Nice job!

Excellent painting quality, Valadorn!
If you like the Silmarillionn epopea, as I guess from you interest in my banners, I'd really like to have your pictures for illustrating my WOTS project (War of the Silmarils - see the War of the Ring section).

Many thanks guys!

Hurin, I find this era fascinating because our hobby is a way to build some different army themes and represent an era, though I don't have time this year... Really I hope that one of the great painter from this forum will see your topic and I am sure he will love the drawings and start this project. Also there was an old topic with a guy that painted themed elven armies from the first age but I cannot find it. Make a search and you will find something interesting!

Back to our topic, I painted some models back on september and I put some final details yesterday.

This eagle is not painted with speedpainting as most of my models in this page. I did it in 2 days though, it was easy and fun, this is the reason for my persistence on the details.

And here we have a beast that I got from ebay without his trunk and tail which I sculpted from green stuff+milliput and I think they are pretty siimilar to the originals. I could make more detail on the horns, I completely miss the yellowish tones in there but I will fix it another time.

Very nice! Both models are very well done! 8)
Along with the yellow tones you mentioned, I think that there could be less black as well. Seems too stark of a contrast. I'm no expert on color choice though, so feel free to dispute me on that point. :-D

Many thanks guys for your feedback on the previous post. I am working hard this year but I find some time to make progress on my armies.

Some oldie but goldie style dwarves right here. I bought them used, in bad condition, but I tried to heal their wounds and add more detail. The banner is handmade.

Right click + "open image in new tab" on each image to see it larger and with the zoom option.

Most of them are cork + sand of various size.
Gimli is based with Pine Bark Mulch. The best material to represent large rocks in my opinion. And absolutely free...

I hadn't noticed for a while this thread. I particularly like the eagle and the ruins on its base. All the other stuff here also are so nice to find on the battlefield. Only one thing that bothers a little (only to find something to complain about) is the red clothes on the Harad taskmaster. It could use a bit more shading/highlighting to stand out a bit more.
