I am looking to get back into the painting side of miniatures and was a member on here a good while ago, I went by Mattamomo as well.
Both here and the last alliance were great forums but it all seems quiet now.

Most of the discussion has moved to facebook these days but if I'm looking for something in particular or just through the archives, or simply looking for middle earth stuff without distractions I come back here.
So yeah welcome back to the hobby and enjoy your time on the one ring :)

As has been said, people are still here but plenty of discussion on facebook.
The problem with facebook is that even the popular discussions move out of the feed quickly.
Either way, if you have a question or post then post away but general discussion like this is on FB - quicker responses.

Mattamomo, that name does ring a bell! Welcome back! :)
It seems to me especially the WIP fora are busy, and that's the most interesting part of the site for me anyway (lots of inspiration!).

Welcome back, I think the forums shine when used for extended conversations and hobby/painting threads which have more more permanence than Facebook.

There's a lot of national Facebook groups but the main one is The Great British Hobbit League group - 3000+ members on there now and growing every day, if you ask to join it one of the admins will add you within a day.

However, as noted about, it's great for instant feedback and chat but has zero permanence as all the threads just vanish down the page and there's very little in the way of search functionality - very popular though and lots of cool stuff.

Thanks. I was already a member but was curious if there was another big group.

Cheers,
