Well, you have a point there, of course. But by faster I actually wanted to say that I would be glad to have more time to paint :) But still, I carry on. I actually finished Saruman, though there was no opportunity to make any photos. Will post them, as soon as I can :) In the meantime I started painting Grima. Will post photos soon.

So, here he is, Saruman the White :) As said, I was trying glazing for the first time with his white robes. And I think it went pretty well.

How do you like him guys? Any comments would be very much appreciated :)

Hello!
He is very nice, I like the facial expression and you did a great job with the white.
However, I think you could have tried to give different nuances to the robes, using some beige to provide a bit more contrast and make the whole miniature more interesting. You did, using grey, but it rather blends in instead of standing out.
Great job though!

Good work, nicely painted!

Saruman's robes are usually painted in a warmer, more brown-ish shade of white. This colder, more blue-ish shade of white actually makes him look somewhat more evil.

Next one is Grima :) And slowly and with fun I am starting to paint this guy.

How do you like him so far?

I actually have two copies of Grima, the first one I had I accidentally shaved off the hair he is holding thinking it was a piece of flash! Hopefully I have learned to look more closely at models since then before taking a x-acto blade to the flash!

I don't know if he's that beautiful purple-blue shade in real life, but so far I really like Grima. White is a hard colour to paint, and Saruman's robes are quite smooth, so great job on him!

Sorry, it was just game of light :) It is actually more greyish, as seen on the picture below. And it's nearly finished as well. I just can't decide for the sleeves - should I try and use some more highlights on them?
And otherwise, what do you guys think of him?

I think he looks great. I think you could improve the contrast between face and hair slightly by running a very small amount of reikland fleshade where the hair meets the face. just a tiny amount at the forehaead area. Robes look perfect.

After Grima, next challenge will be Prince Imrahil :) Already started him, so far he looks a bit ghostly :-D

Already painted his face and chainmail, starting his blue cloak :)
Though, I am wondering, does this guy have any teeth? :-D

Looking very good so far. Now that you mention it, the face does look weird indeed without teeth. I had always kind of missed his left foot until I found it hidden under his cloak, so maybe check there for any missing teeth :-D

Thank you Qwertz, maybe I will look for them

Well, moving on with this guy, I managed to paint his cloak so far. I also added some freehand swan in the corners of the cloak, i think they look ok. Your thoughts, gentlemen?

The freehand lines and swans on the cloak looks great! You however should consider croping you pictures. ;)

I agree, maybe I really should take a little more time when posting those WIP photos, not just when I post finished models :)

So, Imrahil got his cloth painted and armour. Next will be his shield.

Opinions?

And the shield is done as well. So far I must say, this model really is a lot of fun to paint.

One of the best takes on this model I've seen. Absolutely love the freehand swan and lines on the cloak. I'm stealing this idea. Well done mate.
