Hi

Been into warhammer for the past year, and about to take the plunge into Middle Earth. Looking to pick up the Pelannor Fields box on my birthday.

Way back when in the darkness of time, I remember the LOTR game first dropping, and there was a scenario set for Weathertop. Are rules for these small scenarios still knocking about? I am a lot more interested in narrative gameplay than tournament, I’m not competitive.
I am in the UK in the Berkshire area if anyone is near there?

Cheers

Yes, these rules are most certainly still a major part of the game. Each of the "Armies of" books have scenarios in them, and if I remember correctly, Weathertop is in the LoTR armies book.

If you like smaller skirmishes, check out "Battle Companies". It has 12 scenarios and a story line to play thorough. It's geared for smaller games.

Thanks. I managed to find the Escape From Goblin Town box set for £60. It should turn up this week hopefully. From what I have read it is a great little skirmish game.

Goblin Town is great to paint, so many unique figures. I'm doing mine in between army projects, as I get to treat each member of the Fellowship as a hero. Since they're all so different, it's been a nice treat.

I'm following the instructions at Tale of Painters.com and they look great! The goblins are a great thing to start with, they're easy to paint and quite forgiving. I think even drybrushed over their base layer and wash they'd look good.
