Absolutely stunning elven banners! It is based on a specific design (Like Elrond's or Gilgalad's banner?) from the movies or is it your own creation?

I like the general paint scheme on your elves - very earthy and natural. 8)
When painting minis, I think people have a tendency to - perhaps unconsciously - overdo the contrasts and color intensities in order to make the mini 'pop'. My own counteraction to this is to prefer 'natural' and darker paint schemes. I think you have found the perfect balance, not just with the high elves, but also in your general painting style - its just spot on perfect :yay: :-D

Hi, thanks for the kind words.

The banner design was something I saw online somewhere a number of years ago and tried to replicate. It was tough painting 7 of them at the same time.

Hi all, Just finished the new Gandalf the White model, I actually batch painted 4 mtd and 3 ft versions of these guys and will post the rest of the pictures up once I have finished the Pippin models that go with them.

I have written a full stage by stage painting guide for both ft and mtd and added it to the patreon page. Guides are priced at the minimum I can set it to at £1 per guide. For more information on the patreon painting guides you can see https://www.patreon.com/middleearthpaintingguides

Does anyone even look at the WIP section anymore, kind of sad really as it used to be buzzing in here.
Batch painted a few Boromirs. Hope you like them.

Great painting work as always. The newer sculpt does not have the same accuracy to Sean Bean's look as the older ones. GW no longer seem to bother with getting the faces right any more.

Goes for the whole forum sadly.
A lot of gamers have moved away from the GW games and figures to other systems and ranges for their Middle Earth fix. There is some great work being done elsewhere that the rules here prevent being shown.

Thanks. Yes I agree the original Boromir is by far the best version.

Yeh its is sad that the forum is so quiet nowadays, I remember the days where it was absolutely bouncing in here every single day. Facebook seems to have taken over the world.

Posts are certainly down from days past but I still check in once a day too see new posts and to be inspired by the fine work I see.

Your work is always a treat for all of us to see and I click and zoom in on every pic that you post. I’d venture that dozens or perhaps even hundreds of other users and guests do the same - they just don’t comment like they use to.

I’ll say for them and for myself - thanks as always for sharing and I hope you continue to post amazing pics of your inspirational work here for all of us to enjoy

Hey, I try and do wip's... It's funny how page counts go up with such few interaction though.

I don't do Facebook, the Reddit page seems to be quite active but with the same questions it seems like daily.

DMS, you do such great work!

Thanks guys. Yeh I don't like facebook much either and only really use it for work these days. I haven't looked at the reddit page.

I still check the WIP regularly! To my shame I hardly post any more, but I also have little time for the hobby these days. I love seeing others’ work - keeps the inspiration up for when I do get some time to paint!
Your painting is fantastic, as always :)

Those look amazing, as usual.

Do you use any sort of magnifier when you work, or just yer standard Mark I eyeball?

My first thought was thank goodness for air brushes and then I went to your website! Done with a brush!?! That is phenomenal! Wish I wore hats so I could tip it to you sir. Can't even imagine how long that took for you to do.

Thanks Mapper, appreciate your comment. Yeh no airbrushes here. It took me quite a while to complete more so because I was working on it a little at a time alongside other jobs. I have another 2 smaugs to do and I expect them to be a lot quicker now that I have the colour scheme and methods ironed out.
