Glad to see you have entered Gandalf the Great. Yes, Olofer's entries are impressive, but there are first, second and third places that each win Gold Coins, and also the Competition Committee's Choice award (which has a 'Breaking of the Fellowship' boxed set as its prize!).

Just wondering if it might be an idea to extend the deadline to the end of January, as it would give people a chance to enter things they got for christmas, not to mention the fact that this is one of the busiest times of year for people, I just thought it might be an idea.

a good idea, gondorian_knight!
I am also waiting for some stuff to arrive (and have to walk several times to a DIY shop, I'm afraid...)
I also have so much to do till the end of the year, I'd really appreciate a prolongment till mid or end of january.

I also think its a good idea to extend the competition until the end of January and support the suggestion wholeheartedly. Its the busiest time of the year for a lot of people; holidays, exams, work pressures, etc and so perhaps we should give people more time with this competition.

We also started late and I am still struggling with the Scenario/House Rules (need to virtually rewrite the article system), and don't expect it to be finished before the end of the week, so an extension of time would be a good idea from my point of view too.

I'll discuss the idea with the Competition Committee (AKA the Beer Swilling Rock Pigs) and keep you posted.

Beer Swilling Rock Pigs? And I'm not in there?! I'm missing sth in my life!

Hehe, great idea to extend the date, good to start the new year with! I only hope I will not put the things I'm still working on for the comp aside to do some other things... just need to make sure all my work is done before the days of alcohol arrive...

@Kalamir - At this stage the Comp Committee is still discussing the idea of extending the competition, so nothing has been decided yet. If we do extend it, then there will be an announcement made on the home page.

@KoR888 - the code for the Scenario/House Rule categories is just about finished and I'm going to be testing it over the next couple of days. I just need a few uninterrupted hours to work on it.

@Kalamir There are plans to run the Comps every 3-4 months so even if we do push it back for a couple of weeks we should still be doing another one around Easter.

Adds Beer swilling rock pigs to sculpting list...

Maybe the extended time limit will give me the chance to get more than one entry in. I am happy to try that.

By the way, thanks to Dag and the gang for all the hard work.

That would cost too much in prizes Kalamir, and for someone to make something of competition quality, it may take longer than a month. 3 - 4 months is great by me

If you want to donate all the prizes Karl, we'll run one every two month ;)

Dag, just a quick quiestion, in the diorama comp, it says it must include two lotr models, can I use TBM wood elves as mirkwqood elves, I mean, do they count as lotr? they do in the painitng so I'm just making sure. I have about 20 of them left in my draw so I'm eager to use them up ;)

@KE The Dio rules actually say 'must contain two Lotr themed models. Also Rule 2 of the Competition is
Quote:
The entry must be of miniatures, terrain, or scenarios/rules compatible with the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game (i.e. 25-28 mm LOTR figures, but not necessarily GW figures)

Therefore using TBM Elves is not a problem.

mm more diorama's coming, seems like this competition is hotting up. Can't wait. :)
