i really like the diorama, the fellbeast is painted very nice!

IMHO, I think the eyes would have looked mor evil if you would have first painted it black, and then a little white pupil in the middle.

A very straight and clear article with tons of useful aid. The conversion is simple but very effective if you want the Fell-beast in a more dynamic pose (well done!) and the paint job is very accurate too. If I ever would find the possibility to grab a cheap Fell-beast on eBay I will certainly use this guide. It's the best at the moment - talking about how to paint this magnificent beast of darkness in the best way. Nice and simple!

Great article and I love the painting technique and colours - they mimick the film version very well. Chopping up large metal models freaks me out a bit, but I could really use that paint scheme. Lovely diorama.

Wow really great work. I like this conversion. But what already has been said that the eye is a little strange. You should paint first black and then a little point of white, like a eye of an horse.
BUt really good work!!!

Excellent article - fantastic pictures of each step make reading it very pleasurable.

When reading great articles (and I definitely include this one in the group) I always feel inspired to paint the model. This one convinced me to buy Ringwraith on Fellbeast and I will definitely read it again when I will be painting my model :)

Thanks for submitting it and congrats on achieving such a wonderful effect!

Nice article Bart, again, well prepared and put together and exceeds the standards we ask for at the One Ring.
I am particularly impressed with the painting beneath the Fellbeasts wings...great job mate !

Another stunner Bart, very impressive!

I am very pleased to see that you are not averse to drybrushing. I fancy the effects one can obtain, even if it is often dismissed as a newbie technique. It suits me just fine, and you keep showing amazing results, proving it's worth. Of course, one must have the ability to use it effectively to get these results.

If I ever try a fellbeast again, this is what I will use as a guide. I love the way it turned out. Those wings are incredible! The colours are awesome.

I look forward to more articles from you Bart, they're always a pleasure to behold.

Very. very impressive. You know how to paint your Fell Beasts! I love the colour on the wings, it looks exactly like the film. Keep it up!

another nice article by you! the fellbeast is such a nice mini/maxi mini to paint, I really should do one again (if that beast wasn't that expensive ...grumble...)

are you planning to do a second/third part of your diorama (the dead in the water, etc.)? that would be great!

(ah, hey, one moment, how many coins does one get for an article anyway...?
are you splitting yours up in a clever way, hmmm? ;-) ...

I finally found the time to read through this properly. I really like the look of your fell beast. These must be the most realistic fell beast wings I've seen. Your drybrushing + thin ink washing technique seems to be perfect for the wing texture.
