A most excellent guide Isc! It really captures the Balin's Tomb feel, small touches like the books go a long way! Congrats on a job well done :)

I never liked the GW guide for Balin's tomb. It bore no resemblance at all to the layout of the movie set, and was far too large and open. Your model has captured some of the feeling of the movie and I am so very impressed with the attention to detail you go to when researching your projects.

Well done Iscarlsquell, a great addition to the site and a nice location for the Fellowship to fight in.

Incredible Bart!
If there was one gaming board that I could have for my gaming, it would be this one. Not only expertly crafted, and visually stunning, but so cleverly contained in a box! You can seal this up, even with minis in it, and resume playing after supper or whenever. I always like Ebob's Moria set, with the watcher, but this is really great for gaming, being contained completely in box like that.

A lot of effort went into this, clearly. The detail is incredible.
I must try it. It will give me a chance to use my hobby tool (which was a great purchase) for something besides smoothing out holes for mini bases in my storage bases.

i did take myself time today to read through your article. vote: 10

you showed me some new things and gave me some ideas for future terrainprojects :D

the only thing that 'I' dont like is the floor of the tomb. it doesnt look like a realistic floor to me. most of the floortiles are placed randomly on the ground and none of them is broken, like it would look like after a battle with a cave-troll.
but this is only my opinion and it doesnt make your article worse. once again '10 points' for your great work :D

One thing I hate about all Moria terrain pieces is that there are flagstones, I never recall them being mentioned in the book and why would dwarves make them when they are carving rooms out of rock. I think that they would want them to be smooth wouldn't you?
